LAURA TRAMONTIN - Assessment Coordinator

Laura Tramontin has over twenty years of diverse crime laboratory experience and has worked in multiple forensic disciplines to include Drug Chemistry, Toxicology, Trace Evidence and Biology.  Ms. Tramontin has worked with numerous Crime Scene Units providing technical assistance in the identification and collection of crucial evidence at the scene. She also serves as an ANAB Technical Assessor ensuring quality lab standards and practices are met by Crime Laboratories all across the country.  Ms. Tramontin has provided training to law enforcement officers in forensic science capabilities, evidence handling procedures, and eligibility of evidence into the FBI’s CODIS database.

Ms. Tramontin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Science Degree in Forensic Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  She is a member of the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists, the New Jersey Association of Forensic Scientists and the New Jersey Homicide Investigators Association.

Ms. Tramontin provides Crime Scene Unit Assessment.  She assesses Crime Scene Units based upon her experience with some of the highest performing units in the country.  She reinforces their strengths while providing direction in areas that are in need of improvement.  Ms. Tramontin brings an impartial approach to reviewing the operations of the Crime Scene Unit in moving them toward conformance with national and international quality standards.
